The heart of Central America beats in MAYA

The centre lives by the MAYA philosophy of life and carefully connects it with Western thinking, Western spirituality and Western healing.

An ancient, sacred MAYA place of healing and peace, where cultures, religions and old Maya healing methods come together.

Illness as an expression of imbalance

The ancient MAYA healing art does not only ask about the complaints, but about what lies behind them. We guide you back into balance with targeted treatments from alternative medicine, natural remedies, the TAMAZCAL sweat lodge and age-old, traditional MAYA healing methods and rituals.

What is MAYA healing?

Healing according to the MAYA principle follows Indigenous medicine and its holistic philosophy of life. Illness is seen as an expression of emotional and physical imbalance — which is why the MAYA look not only at the symptoms, but at what lies behind them.

Balance is restored with targeted treatments from alternative medicine, natural remedies, cures and traditional MAYA rituals. Every person is different: your constitution and your spiritual orientation shape what your program looks like.

How MAYA and Western medicine work together

For more than 30 years the PAZ MUNDO team has worked on the basis of ancient MAYA healing methods — combined with conventional medicine. Through therapists and healers from Guatemala and Europe, a wealth of experience in bringing both sides together has grown over the years.

On request, the Paz Mundo hospital on site provides an initial examination, care based on medical reports you bring with you, general medicine, dialysis, operating theatres, maternity ward, dental practice, X-ray department, homeopathy, pain and neural therapy, and naturopathy.

Who a stay is for

People come with exhaustion and burnout, with inner restlessness, sleeplessness and mood swings, with back problems, with strokes of fate they have not yet come to terms with. The more time you allow yourself, the deeper the stay can work.

Alongside this, Paz Mundo runs its own program for children and young people with disabilities.

A stay is no substitute for ongoing medical treatment. If you are in therapy or take medication, please discuss your stay with your doctor beforehand.

A place that makes you slow down

The grounds lie alone on the hillside above the lake. Rooms, pyramid, sweat lodge and garden belong together — no walk takes longer than two minutes, and in the evening all you hear is the wind.
